On Friday, September 15, 2017, the teams from Secure One Capital and Caterina’s Club gathered at Strawberry Farms Golf Club to raise funds and awareness for Caterina’s Club and to formerly introduce S1C’s Wholesale Lending Division to the mortgage community. The tournament, auctions, raffles and the helicopter golf ball drop combined to bring in a total of over $34,500.
As golfers arrived, they were greeted with a pre-tournament expo, which featured booths from tournament sponsors including Ytel, Driving Force Media, Pacific West Credit, Bottomline Accounting and Tax Solutions, Down Payment Secrets, a coffee and tea beverage cart and a Bloody Mary bar courtesy of Tito’s Vodka and Caterina’s Club. We also kicked off the morning with silent auction and raffle prizes on display which ranged from a Terry Bradshaw framed Jersey to a Wyland painting.
During the expo, duffers had the chance to show off their short game in the InSellerate CRM Putting Contest. Although we witnessed some outstanding putting, John Lomeli, a Secure One Capital Wholesale Account Executive took home the prize.
Following the putting contest, we drew the names of three golfers for a chance to play in the Ytel $1,000,000 Hole-in-One Shootout. Jeremy Bradly, Doug Lipan, and Ryan Marier were whisked off to the 18th fairway for their chance to take home the biggest cash prize in Strawberry Farms Golf Club history. Unfortunately, it was not meant to be, as each competitor failed to sink a hole-in-one from 165 yards.
Lunch was provided by Caterina’s Club founder, Sir Chef Bruno Serato and The Anaheim White House Restaurant. With lunch in their hands, the competitors hit the links ready for a great day in the California sun.
Following a day out on the links, the golfers returned to our Centier Bank Celebrity Meet and Greet hosted by LA Rams legendary QB, Vince Ferragamo, and Angels only 22 game winner, Clyde Wright.
At 6:07 pm, a helicopter appeared out of the sunset in the west and began to circle the landing zone for the KFI AM 640 $25,000 Helicopter Golf Ball Drop. KFI’s Sheron Bellio was on hand and broadcast the golf ball drop on Facebook Live and on the Tim Conway, Jr. Show. Unfortunately, the winning ball (10 – green) did not match the number in the sealed envelope (39 – green), so our winner won just the $2,500 guarantee. (At this time, the winner has not indicated their preference, so we are withholding their name for privacy reasons.)
Dinner guests mingled with the VIPs before the evening’s festivities began, which included comments by Ferragamo, Wright, and Chef Bruno as well as a live auction, silent auction, and raffle prizes.
The best-ball scramble tournament was won by Jordan Pate and his team. The closest to the pin was won by Jason Brennan. We were unable to determine the winner of the longest drive competition.
Tournament sponsors included Secure Capital – Title Sponsor, Ytel – Million Dollar Hole-in-One Shootout, Principal – Platinum Sponsor, Effort Appraisal Group – Bronze Sponsor, Fletcher Jones Motorcars – Mercedes-Benz Hole-in-One Sponsor, InSellerate CRM – Putting Contest Sponsor, Centier Bank – VIP Meet and Greet Sponsor, Pacific West Credit – Cigar Sponsor, Bottomline Accounting and Tax Solutions with Down Payment Secrets – Water Sponsors.
